A Potential Alternative Orodispersible Formulation to Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate Orally Disintegrating Tablets

The orally disintegrating tablet (ODT) has shown vast potential as an alternative oral dosage form to conventional tablets wherein they can disintegrate rapidly (?30 s) upon contact with saliva fluid and should have acceptable mouthfeel long their weight doesn’t exceed 500 mg. However, owing the bitterness of several active ingredients, there is a need find suitable ODTs that maintains features be taste-masked more simply inexpensively. Therefore, electrospun nanofibers solvent-cast dispersible films (ODFs) are used in this study OD formulations for prednisolone sodium phosphate (PSP) commercially available ODTs. encapsulation efficiency (EE%) ODFs was higher (?100%) compared (?87%), while disintegration time considerably faster (?30 than (?700 s). Hence, accelerated release rate PSP from obtained, due surface area characteristic morphology permitted wettability thus, erosion. Taste-assessment using electronic-tongue quantified threshold drug its aversiveness concentration (2.79 mM). taste-masking strategy would useful when further formulating formulation.
